The ThermaCool TCT System emits a cooling spray onto the surface of the skin. At the same time, radio frequencies permeate the skin, sending heat into its deep layers. The heat contracts the collagen in the area of treatment, stimulating new collagen growth, which will continue over time. This process tightens the area's tissue, subsequently smoothing out wrinkles and loose skin.

The entire Thermage process can take anywhere from just several minutes to an hour to perform, depending on the amount of skin damage that is being treated. Contrary to surgical lifts that may produce similar results, Thermage involves no discomfort, no incisions, and a very minimal recovery period. Some patients notice redness, but it usually fades just shortly after the treatment.
